THE GENEVA CENTRE ORGANIZES A NUMBER OF CONFERENCES, SYMPOSIA, SIDE-EVENTS, ROUND TABLES, CULTURAL EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS.

Our events address the most pressing human rights issues, including those examined by the UN human rights structures and mechanisms. Our events bring together a variety of stakeholders such as the United Nations (UN), intergovernmental organizations, governments, civil society, academia, independent human rights actors, the private sector and the public to discuss human rights topics of global importance.

COVID-19 AND RIGHT TO EDUCATION: CURRENT IMPACT AND FUTURE CONSEQUENCES

Invited speakers coming from different types of fields and organizations will discuss and elaborate on the current impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the right to education, and the future consequences it may have. Speakers will identify the main risks and problems and will also present solutions for the future, to safeguard and promote the right to education following the pandemic.

On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue will hold a virtual event to celebrate the commitment, the courage, the empowerment and the determination of millions of ordinary women and men who do extraordinary things in order to promote a society based on gender equality and respect for women’s rights.

To mark International Women’s Day, celebrated worldwide on 8 March, and to officially launch its latest publications on women and gender equality in the Arab world and beyond, entitled Women’s Rights in the Arab Region: Between Myth and Reality and Veiling /Unveiling: The Headscarf in Christianity, Judaism and Islam, issued in February 2019, the Geneva Centre organized a debate and book presentation.
