The Geneva Centre concludes its training course on “Cybersecurity for human rights professionals”

The Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue concluded its Cybersecurity for human rights professionals from 4th to 5th October 2022. A two-day online training course attended by twenty participants from the United Kingdom, Italy, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nigeria, Zambia, Ghana, Ethiopia and Trinidad and Tobago.
This intensive training course was designed for organizations, journalists, lawyers, and individuals interested in human rights. It gave the participants an overview of how to assess the risks associated with cyber security, secure digital communications, internet browsing security and privacy, as well as Data Protection.
The course was conducted in collaboration with Kamal Sedra, a Swiss-based cybersecurity consultant and trainer.
The participants expressed overall appreciation for the organization of this training course and stressed the importance of such courses for deepening their understanding of cybersecurity.
