The Geneva Centre aims to promote respect for, and raise awareness of human rights universally, in a non-politicized manner and in accordance with internationally recognized standards. It accords a particular importance to the development and spread of the values of tolerance, empathy and celebration of the diversity of humankind.
Since its creation in 2013, the Geneva Centre has focused on several core thematic areas, including:

- Women’s rights (Sustainable Development Goal 5 – Gender Equality)
- Rights of children and young people
