The Geneva Centre dedicates events to the celebration of human rights, through international commemorative days or through the organization of high-level events such as the 2018 world conference on religions, creeds and value systems.

Several times a year, the Geneva Centre celebrates human rights, through the organization of events linked to the United Nations international days, or by organizing high-level events on a specific topic linked to human rights.

The Geneva Centre has chosen the International Human Rights Day, 10 December, to celebrate individuals with distinctive work in the field of human rights advancement, through its Human Rights Recognition Awards. The Geneva Centre’s Human Rights Recognition Awards will be given to individuals who work for the protection, promotion and advancement of human rights. The awards are not only an opportunity to acknowledge and increase the visibility of the significant work of such individuals but are also a chance to celebrate human rights achievements.
