Geneva – 22 September 2022
The Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue received a nine-person delegation from the Dubai-based Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) at its premises on Thursday 22 September 2022. Dr Umesh Palwankar, the Centre’s Executive Director welcomed Dr Immanuel Azzad Moonsesar, Associate Professor of Health Administration & Policy at the MBRSG and his accompanying delegation during which he discussed the Centre’s activities and recent initiatives to promote and advance human rights universally.
The visit was organized in the context of the MBRSG delegation’s field visit to international institutions and human rights organizations in Geneva. In the course of the meeting, attended also by Ms Alia Fares, the Training and Partnerships Officer of the Centre, the delegation heard with great interest about the Centre’s work based on its four pillars of research and publication, training and national capacity building in human rights, international advocacy through reporting on major conferences and developments, in particular the sessions of the Human Rights Council, and offering a platform for discussion and debate on vital human rights issues through organizing conferences and panel events, and promoting an inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue to foster mutual understanding, tolerance and the celebration of diversity.
A number of avenues for collaboration between the Geneva Centre and the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government were explored, including in the fields of joint research and publications, organizing training sessions, and hosting panel events and conferences. Dr Umesh Palwankar and Ms Alia Fares expressed their willingness to support such collaboration by sharing the Centre’s considerable experience and its extensive network of experts in international organisations and academic institutions.
