Geneva Centre’s Human Rights Recognition Awards 2024: Honoring Excellence on International Human Rights Day
Dubai, UAE, 10 December 2024 –On a day dedicated to celebrating human rights, the Geneva Centre’s Human Rights Recognition Awards 2024 took place under the inspiring theme “Expanding Horizons: From Individuals to Institutions.” It was held on 10 December as part of the Centre’s Human Rights Awareness Week, and hosted by the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG).
This year’s prestigious Human Rights Recognition Award was presented to the All-India Council of Human Rights, Liberties and Social Justice, with Dr. Mustafa Saasa, Global Chairman (for Peace Initiatives) and Global Director General, accepting the honor.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Mohammed Al Shamsi, Board Member of the Geneva Centre emphasized the essential role of the Awards and the human rights awareness week in promoting human rights and fostering global dialogue.
In a heartfelt acceptance speech, Dr. Saasa spoke of the profound responsibility the award carries, not only for their work in India but also for inspiring global change. He also detailed the Council’s innovative initiatives to empower women and uplift rural communities through education and skills training.
