Geneva, 06 May 2025 – The Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue is proud to announce its first official collaboration with the United Nations Special Procedures of the Human Rights Council.
This partnership marks a significant milestone and will begin with a joint International Conference, scheduled for November 2025 at the United Nations Office in Geneva, entitled: “Climate Change, Human Rights and Sustainable Development.“
This high-level event will be co-chaired by the Special Rapporteur and the Executive Director of the Geneva Centre. It will bring together diplomats, UN officials, academics, and civil society representatives, to engage in a comprehensive dialogue on the human rights dimensions of climate change.
The conference will feature a high-level segment and 3 expert panels respectively on:
Adverse impact on certain basic socio-economic rights such as food, housing, education and health;
Disproportionate impacts on children, women, older persons, and Indigenous Peoples;
Right to development as a pathway to overcome climate inequality.
