UN HRC 61st Urgent Debate on
“Protection of Children and Educational Institutions in International Armed Conflicts: The Aerial Attacks on Shajareh Tayyebeh Girls’ School in Minab, Iran, as a Grave Breach of International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Law”
The urgent debate is being convened following an official request submitted on Monday, 23 March 2026 by the Islamic Republic of Iran, the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Cuba. The Minab school strike of 28 February 2026 will be discussed in the context of the “protection of children and educational institutions in international armed conflicts,” as outlined in the request.
