Dr Fabrice Crégut, a French national residing in Switzerland, was appointed Executive Director of the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue in July 2025. He brings to the role over 17 years of international experience in human rights, justice reform, and child protection across more than 40 countries in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America, and the Pacific.

Prior to joining the Geneva Centre, Dr Crégut held several high-level advisory and leadership positions. He served as the founding director of Justice Reform, a consulting firm specialised in public policy, justice system strengthening, and institutional capacity-building. In this capacity, he led multi-country projects and advised governments and UN agencies on systemic reforms in justice and human rights. His roles included head of delegation and programme coordinator in Afghanistan, as well as advisor of global justice programming for Terre des Hommes Switzerland, overseeing strategy and programmatic implementation in more than 25 countries.

Dr Crégut has worked extensively with the United Nations system, including as a child justice expert for UNICEF and UNDP in Palestine, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tunisia, and the broader MENA and Pacific regions. His work has focused on legislative reform, the development of national child protection strategies, and police and justice training programmes aligned with international standards.

His career reflects a strong commitment to participatory, rights-based reform, and he is widely recognised for bridging legal expertise, operational leadership, and advocacy. He was also a lead organiser of the World Congress on Justice for Children (Geneva 2015, Paris 2018), an initiative that contributed to global dialogue on justice for children.

Dr Crégut holds a PhD in International Human Rights Law from the University of Geneva and a Master’s degree in International Law from Aix-Marseille University. He is bilingual in French and English.
