On the 28th of February, the Geneva Centre announced on its website, with deep sorrow, the recent passing away of its former Director Idriss Jazairy. The Centre wishes herewith to pay a special tribute to this unique personality and to his invaluable contribution in developing the Geneva Centre, the quality of its work and the attendant international recognition:

The Geneva Centre issues edition of its “Human Rights Without Prejudice” newsletter - March 2020

The Geneva Centre is pleased to announce the sixth edition of its Newsletter “Human Rights Without Prejudice”. The Geneva Centre has evolved, with a new Board, team and strategic vision. In this framework, the Centre will strengthen its endeavours to further enhance mutual understanding and cooperative relations between peoples and societies of all regions, cultures and faiths. 21 March 2020, GENEVA – The 2019 coronavirus pandemic, which was first reported in December 2019 in Wuhan, China and ever since has kept spreading all over the world, has led to increased discrimination, prejudice, violence, and racism against Chinese people and people of East Asian and Southeast Asian descent and appearance.

It is with deep sorrow that the Geneva Centre informs you of the passing away of its former Executive Director Idriss Jazairy. His international reputation as former Ambassador, together with his remarkable intelligence, rendered great service to the work of the Centre. We convey our sincere condolences to his family and friends.

“Every year since 2008 we celebrate social justice and yet, inequalities are on the rise. We have to do more than just celebrations” says the Executive Director of the Geneva Centre, Dr Umesh Palwankar on the occasion of the World Day of Social Justice.

20 February 2020, Geneva - On the World Day of Social Justice observed on 20 February, the Executive Director of the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue, Dr Umesh Palwankar, stressed the importance of social justice to build peaceful societies.
