Teodora POPAJunior Project Officer
Teodora Popa, a national of Romania, joined the Geneva Centre in November 2015 as a Junior Project Officer. She is in charge of contributing to the development of studies, research and publications on issues related to the promotion of human rights in the Arab region. She also supports the Geneva Centre in the coordination and implementation of various projects, including side-events held at the United Nations Office in Geneva (UNOG), and training programmes on human rights.
Ms. Popa regularly attends the UN Human Rights Council sessions, as well as other human rights-related mechanisms and conferences, reporting on issues related to human rights in the Arab region.
Prior to joining the Geneva Centre, she worked as Partnerships and Development Officer for Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS), focusing on women’s participation in peace and security. She also interned at the Permanent Mission of Romania to the UN in Geneva, as part of the Human Rights Team. Teodora has also volunteered with Action for Development (AfD) as a Proposal Development Officer, focusing on projects related to gender and women’s empowerment.
Among her academic achievements, Ms. Popa holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po Paris. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science also at Sciences Po.
