Human rights should be essential drivers of national policy in every nation in the world. At the Geneva Centre, we recognise that increased awareness about the importance of human rights is the first and most important step we can take in this direction.

We collaborate with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the United Nations Human Rights Council, and the Geneva Academy as a joint centre of the University of Geneva and the Graduate Institute, to offer human rights training programmes for students, young diplomats, government officials, and other relevant constituencies.

Every program is designed with the specific aims and objectives of our participants in mind; government officials are invited to discuss ways to harmonise human rights law and national law, diplomats can learn how to deepen their participation in human rights mechanisms, and students are encouraged to understand human rights, respect difference, and resist extremism.
