28 November 2017, GENEVA - Further to the Geneva Centre’s announcement on 16 November 2017 entitled “The Geneva Centre to organize on 14 December a panel debate on the migrant and refugee crisis at Palais des Nations in Geneva“, we have the pleasure to announce that the Director-General of the International Organization for Migration H. E. Ambassador William Lacy-Swing has accepted to deliver a keynote speech at the opening of the conference.
On 1 November 2017, the Geneva Centre’s Executive Director H. E. Ambassador Idriss Jazairy extended an invitation to IOM’s Director-General to attend and open the 14 December panel debate which will include keynote speakers from IOM, UNHCR, the Norwegian Refugee Council, the International Catholic Migration Commission and the European Centre for Peace and Development. This invitation was accepted by IOM’s Director-General.
The Geneva Centre’s panel debate entitled “Migration and human solidarity, a challenge and an opportunity for Europe and the MENA region” will take place on 14 December from 10:00 to 12:30 in room XII at the United Nations Office in Geneva.
